João Pessoa also has a good selection of free and low cost tours. You can do it by yourself (costs and arrangements for feeding and transportation are up to you.)

The architectural setting of João Pessoa, founded in 1585, deserves at least half a day's walk. We recommend this tour in the afternoon, when most of the attractions are open. The starting point is João Pessoa Square, in Cidade Alta. Below are some of the attractions you can visit in the historical center:

Tourism Information

Currently, João Pessoa has three Tourist Information Offices, open from Monday to Sunday, from 8 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the following locations:
